Healthy vs Unhealthy relationships: Castiel and Dean. Or why I think the relationship between Dean and Cas is way unhealthy

I’ve never really written about it, mostly because I try to ignore Castiel if I can. First of all, the whole relationship between Castiel and Dean is built a) on inbalance of power b) lies, deceits and omissions, c) two personalities that are only apparently similar, as far as their loyalty and their soldier mentality.
The inbalance of power is pretty clear, since the second episode Cas appeared: “You should show me some respect, I’m the one who brought you out…I can send you in” (paraphrasing). Castiel, being immature never fails to hughlight what he does for Dean. He has a very good memory about all he has done for Dean and he always guilt trips Dean with it. Castiel is an angel, powerful, a being as ancient as man, whereas as he himself said to Dean, the hunter is just a man. They cannot, as much as they try, understand each other. Their outlook on things is completely different. Even now, after Purgatory (aka how Edlund and Carver decided to sweep all the crap Cas has done under the rug to have more D/C scenes so that fans would not pester them).
b) lies and omissions. Cas lies. Whether it’s for the greater good or for his own gain he has lied and deceived Dean countless of times…plus, his omissions and lies ended up more than once to hurt Sam. And no friend would ever, ever hurt the most important person in their friend’s life just for the hell of it.
Yes, Sam has lied to Dean, and his lies had consequences, but he always took responsibility for his actions, which is a trait he shares with Dean…and it’s something that apparently just flies right through Castiel. His idea of taking responsibility is not proactive…
I mean, does it seem healthy to you? Does it seem like the type of relationship anyone would wish on Dean?

So Dean reaches for the beer and opens it, and I think nothing of it. Until I see him set the first beer in front of Sam and then open his own. They’ve been fighting literally most of the season and yet, as soon as things are settled, Dean is back to taking care of Sammy. I’ll be in the corner crying and whispering something about brothers.

Yes! And as I said yesterday, that scene when Dean beats the shit out of him and Soulless!Sam not only doesn’t fight back, he doesn’t raise a hand to defend himself either, because Sam wouldn’t have. There’s a history of Dean hitting Sam and Sam not defending himself. Soulless!Sam does follow Sam’s behavior patterns when it comes to Dean.
